Meet Amanda
Ever since I was a child, there have been two major constants in my life: my obsession with animals—especially dogs—and my love for helping other people. It is because of these two things that aMANda’S BEST FRIEND is in existence, but as most people know, every final destination is arrived upon after a journey.
I was one of those little kids that always walked around with a stuffed animal in tow. It began with a Pound Puppy (yes, I’m an 80’s baby), but after losing that in a hotel room sheet change, Fudgy, the stuffed dog, became my staple comfort buddy. He went everywhere with me and I dreamt of the day I would have a “real” pet.

Katie
Director of Operations
Katie has worked with Amanda's Best Friend since June 2021, the same year she moved to Raleigh. She has moved many times in her life, but was mainly raised in Ohio and North Carolina. Katie has loved animals all her life and has always had pets at her side. Katie currently has a cat named Jupiter who is practically her shadow and best friend. She's worked with cats, dogs, even farm animals and helped with racehorses, as well, with her uncle and late grandfather. Her favorite thing to do as a young child was helping shelter and rescue stray cats or dogs near or around the barn with her brothers! Working with Amanda's Best Friend has given Katie wonderful opportunities and has helped her grow into the person she is now. She has made many incredible friends with everyone on the team, gained so much knowledge in the last two years, and helped her find balance in her life. Katie is proud to be a part of Amanda's Best Friend as Operations Director and pet handler. ABF is her second family!

Join Our Team!
We are looking for trustworthy animal lovers to join our team providing dog walking and pet sitting services to the Raleigh and Greensboro area. We need individuals who can commit 10-40 hours per week with a flexible schedule for at least six months.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Proof of US Citizenship and valid NC Driver’s License
- Willingness to undergo and pass a criminal background check
- Insured, licensed, and reliable transportation
- Smart phone is mandatory
- Attention to detail and excellent written/verbal communication skills are a must
- Living a healthy lifestyle is essential—ability to walk 5-7 hours/day in hot/cold temperatures and rain and ability to lift 50 pounds
